Whisk starter ingredients in bowl or glass made of glass, stainless steel or food-grade plastic.
Set aside for 24 hours in a warm place with a loose cloth covering the top.
FEEDING: Discard half of the starter. To the remainder of the starter stir in 1/2 cup (70 grams) gfJules Multigrain Flour + 1/2 cup filtered water.
Re-cover and rest for 24 hours.
At this point, the starter should show signs of activity, but if not, don't despair, and don't throw it out! Repeat the FEEDING step every 12 hours until the starter begins to bubble (becomes active).
Continue FEEDING step once a day for 7 days (best) OR until the starter doubles in volume and looks very bubbly within 6 hours after feeding. At that point, feed one more time, then allow to rest for 6 -12 hours before using.
To store in the refrigerator, transfer to a lidded jar but DO NOT tighten lid completely. Feed starter once a week.
