  1. In reply to Christine Diaz: Go to Dr David Brownstein’s blog (drbrownstein.com) read his book “Iodine: Why you need it..Why you can’t live without it” and learn all about the importance of iodine and YOUR Thyroid. Dr Brownstein is an expert in this field and his books are all great and super informative. Two other websites that are excellent: stopthethyroidmadness.com and
http://www.scribd.com/doc/1959949/IODINE-Solution-to-Healthproblems (this is a video). Celiac disease has nothing or everything to do with iodine deficiencies.

  2. I’m confused about adding sea salt. Sea salt is full of iodine and aren’t we supposed to avoid iodine? Or is it just Celiacs like me with the DH rash who avoid iodine?

    • Hi Christine, I didn’t have a great answer for you, so I sought out a specialist in sea salt at the Natural Products Expo East this weekend! Long, very interesting talk!!! Anyway, he said that all salt naturally contains iodine, but that sea salt has very, very little. Some sea salts have less than others (pink has less than grey, I believe he said, and there was a very long reason for it!). Commercial salts in the US have extremely high levels of iodine, though. As far as avoiding iodine 100%, I haven’t heard anything about that being necessary for celiacs, but I also don’t have DH, so you must always defer to your own medical specialist. If you can tolerate small amounts of iodine though, look into sea salts! I hope that helps, Christine!
