Baking with gluten free beer or other liqueurs can add a whole other dimension to your recipes. My gluten free Beer Bread and Dark Chocolate Beer Cake are actually some of the most popular recipes on my site!
Irish Cream Liqueur is another wonderful ingredient for recipes like my gluten free Irish Angel Food Cake and my gluten free Irish Cream Cupcakes (obvious choice). But finding gluten free, dairy free Irish Cream is like finding a leprechaun and his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. But with my recipe, you now have your delicious pot of gold!
While whiskey is made from gluten containing grains, distillation removes any gluten from the alcohol before it is bottled. To read more on this, hop to my (popular!) article on Gluten Free Beer, Wine and Alcohol.
There are several brands of Irish Whiskey available which claim to be gluten free: Bailey’s® states that the ingredients in its Irish Cream are gluten free; St. Brendan’s claims to be gluten free, as does Carolans® Irish Cream. However, if you are lactose intolerant, allergic to dairy, vegan or otherwise avoid dairy products, the cream in all these products makes them off-limits. (Note: Bailey’s has released an almond milk-based Irish Cream called “Almande”).
Luckily, I’ve developed a delicious dairy free homemade recipe for Irish Cream Liqueur to sip, mix or use in baking! Check out my yummy recipes which call for this dairy free Irish Cream as an ingredient, or whip it up for your next cocktail party and impress all the neighbors with your mixology skills.
