Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Proof the yeast by adding it to warm water and maple syrup in a small bowl. Mix to dissolve and set aside for 5 minutes to activate. It will get foamy and smell yeasty if active; if it doesn't, throw it out and start over with fresh yeast.
  2. In a larger bowl, whisk together measured Nada Flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder and oregano (if using).
  3. In another small bowl, whisk the egg and olive oil together.
  4. Add egg mixture and activated yeast to the dry ingredients, stirring until a smooth dough forms. The dough should be soft and moist but not sticky. If it is very sticky, add a little more Nada Flour; if it is too dry, or at all crumbly, add a little more olive oil.
  5. Turn the dough on a lightly floured pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment. (Use more Nada Flour) Press the dough out into a pizza crust shape and flatten to about 1/4 inch thin. Leave a thicker roll of dough at the edges to create the crust.
  6. Cover with oiled parchment and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
  7. Preheat oven to 400°F. Parbake the crust for 8 minutes.
  8. Place your toppings on the dough. (Sauce, then cheese and toppings)
  9. Return to the oven for 20-25 more minutes until the crust is firm and the cheese is bubbly.

    • Hi Porsha, when using my gfJules NADA Flour and this recipe, there’s no need to add xanthan gum because NADA Flour contains psyllium husk as an additional binder. I hope that helps!
