Gluten Free Apple Bread Recipe, anyone? ‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin, cranberry, apple, warm and spicy! You might have already seen my new post: Gluten Free Cranberry-Orange Quick Bread – Mmmmmm! Well this is another recipe where you’ll want to do the proverbial dog-ear (how do you do that on mobile?!).
My Gluten Free Apple Bread recipe is one of those “have it your way” recipes that you can spice up or down to suit your taste; you can also make the apples smooth and saucy so you barely notice them, or big and chunky so there’s no doubt this recipe is screaming “I love apple!”. And by the way, it is AH-mazing with my homemade apple butter recipe. You gotta try it.
I’ve partnered with Blendtec® to show you how versatile and yummy this gluten free apple bread can be, no matter how you choose to make it.
And yes, you can make it in a blender! How’s that for handy?
Whatever method you choose, it’s a far healthier than traditional oil-based quick breads like zucchini bread — in fact, there’s no oil at all! Use Greek yogurt or what I use — Silk Greek Style vegan coconut milk yogurt alternative. Click here to see a video of me using it in this recipe!
You can even sub out the sugar for unrefined coconut palm if you like. One reader said she even used Swerve with success in this recipe.
I told you this was a “have it your way” kind of recipe!
I promise you’re going to love it any way you bake it — even as muffins (if that’s your way); heck, make it several times and make it different every time. Even the kind of apple you choose will influence the flavor.
The one thing you don’t want to do though is use the wrong gluten free flour. NO bean flours here. NO gritty brown rice flour. NO funky flour taste. Use my gfJules™ Gluten Free All Purpose Flour and everyone you share this recipe with will love it, gluten free or not.
You may have seen my eHow video showing you how to make this recipe using a standard mixer (if not, watch the video by clicking my photo above); here’s how to make this scrumptious quick bread even quicker using an amazingly versatile Blendtec® blender from start to finish! (note: an ordinary blender won’t be able to mix this batter as well)
Happy Baking!
Gluten Free Apple Bread Recipe
Gluten Free Apple Bread Recipe
This healthier Gluten Free Apple Bread is delicious with chunky apples or blended apples; made in a mixing bowl or a blender! So versatile and so yummy any way you slice it!
Ingredients
- 1 cup (8 oz.) Greek yogurt (or non-dairy or dairy sour cream or any plain yogurt – I used Silk® Coconut Greek Style Yogurt)

- 2 cups (270 grams) gfJules® Gluten Free All Purpose Flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/4 tsp. sea salt
- 1 ½ cups tart or semi-sweet apples like Gala, Fuji or Granny Smith
- ¼ – ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Peel & core apples, cut in quarters & place in blender (Blendtec WildSide+ or FourSide jar) and secure lid.
- “Pulse” 8-10 times until apples are chopped. Place chopped apple into a separate bowl and set aside.
- Add pecans to Twister jar and secure lid. “Pulse” 4-5 times and set aside.
- Add yogurt, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract to blender and secure lid. “Pulse” 8-10 times until incorporated.
- Add baking soda, baking powder and salt and 1/3 of flour and “Pulse” 3-4 times.
- Add an additional 1/3 of flour and secure lid. “Pulse” 3-4 times incorporate. Repeat with remaining flour.
- Add chopped apple and pecans, if desired, and “Pulse” 8-10 times.*
- Spoon the batter into a lightly oiled 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350°F for 60 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
*Note: recipe may be prepared by hand chopping apples and pecans for bread with larger apple chunks; may also be mixed using traditional mixer method instead of using a blender.

Two of my daughters have celiac disease, and so we have to be gluten free when they are home. The blender would be great because gluten free flours need more mixing than regular ones, and it would make some great treats.
I eat GF, because I’m allergic to wheat. A Blendtec would make it so much easier to whip up delicious, healthy dishes. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
This recipe looks really good. I used to have an apple bread recipe before my gluten free days and I have really missed it. I can’t wait to try your version.
I cook gluten-free, dairy-free for my daughter who is in college. She is moving to an apartment next year, and this Blendtec would really help her maintain her diet! Thanks!
I’m GF because I’m celiac. The blender looks like an extravagant gift to cook/bake with. Love your products, Jules.
I have Celiac Disease and one of the things I miss most is bread! This apple bread recipe looks delicious. I will try it soon and maybe add cinnamon!!
Ahhhh, gluten free….a lifestyle change foisted upon me after a major surgery. I thought it was the end of the world. It took several years for truly tasty gluten free products to come to be. Finding GFJules and these amazing products was and continues to be a gluten free game changer! Cakes, breads, muffins…and ooooooo, did I mention that awesome pizza mix!?
As for that amazing blender, I’ll whisper this next part so my old blender doesn’t hear.
(My trusty old blender is 24 years old this year and is slowing down….literally….with each use so it would be fantastic to have a spanky new model!)
Jules you are fantastic!!
I have recently ordered my first 2 bags of flour, excited to try them! My Husband and daughter are gluten free so that means we all eat gluten free, but I like it. Working on finding more good recipes, this one looks really good
Having Celiac, I would love to win this blender to make gluten free recipes easier. Thank you.
I am gluten free because I decided to support my son who has some serious food allergies. It was then that I found I had a gluten sensitivity. Some previously undiagnosed issues seemed to disappear.
This would make it so much easier to make things for our family. We currently have no mixer and no blender, so it would be a great blessing.
Yummm. What a great give away! I have a family with 4 who cannot eat gluten. Would love a blender to make hummus, peanut butter, etc. what a powerhouse. I can hardly wait to try your recipes as I just discovered your site.
I’m gluten free because I get sick if I eat it. I’d love to make tomato soup from scratch so my family can have our favorite meal of soup and grilled cheese again.
My daughter has celiac and anything that makes it easier, like the blender or you yr great recipes is a plus
This looks delicious
Gluten free because my health requires it. This blender would be an amazing replacement for the broken one I am hobbling along now. 🙂
The Blendtec system would be an awesome addition to any Gluten Free (and whole food/pro nutrition) household and help to get wholesome snacks and meals on the table so much easier. Love it!! I’ve been GF for years due to health reasons and am now also dairy free, soy free, and corn free. So the Blendtec system would be a lifesaver in the kitchen! 🙂
Definitely on the table on Christmas morning made without a Blendtec because I don’t have one!!! Flour order is on the way and can’t wait!
I am gluten free because my body doesn’t feel good when I eat gluten. As an avid cook & baker, the discovery of my severe gluten intolerance was devastating at first because over the years, I’ve created & collected so many recipes which contain gluten. Some recipes have been handed down over 5 generations! Sure I would never be able to eat the bread products I loved yet loathed due to the way they made me feel, I embarked on a journey to find a decent GF all purpose flour because I was sure there wasn’t an AP, GF flour that was actually going to taste good & rise. Thanks to social media, GF Jules popped up in my feed again and again. Curious, I did a little research. O.k. I did A LOT of research. I saw awards given for the best GF flour & on a whim, decided to try this oh-so-great flour for myself. Disappointed with all the others I’d tried, I was definitely skeptical. to my utter surprise, the flour was honestly just as tasty as gluten flour! My tummy & I were thrilled & visions of non gluten goodies began to dance in my head! All I really wanted was a nice, soft batch of vegan, GF chocolate chip cookies. Having a recipe for a small batch & using agave as a sweetener, I got to work. They rose like wheat flour based cookies do & tasted even better! I was hooked & have only used GF Jules brand ever since. My tummy never hurts any more, the bumps on my arms have gone away & I no longer have daily headaches. HOORAY for being GF & LOVING every tasty bite of it!
My son just broke our blender perfect timing for this giveaway
