If you’ve been searching for easy gluten-free breadsticks that actually taste like real bread, you’re not alone—and you’ve probably been disappointed before. Too many gluten-free bread recipes promise soft, chewy results but deliver something dense, dry, or oddly gummy instead. These gluten-free breadsticks are the fix.

This recipe is built on my gfJules 10-Minute Gluten Free Focaccia Mix, which means you’re not starting from scratch or gambling on a finicky flour blend. The mix already includes the yeast (yes, it’s in there!), so all you need to add is one egg (or a sub like aquafaba, if you prefer), a bit of extra virgin olive oil, and water. That’s it. No complicated steps, no long list of ingredients, and no guesswork.
And unlike so many gluten-free bread recipes, this one is actually fast. With just a 30-minute rise and a 20-minute bake, you’ll have soft, fluffy gluten-free breadsticks on the table in about an hour. They bake up golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and sturdy enough to dip—without falling apart.

These are the kind of breadsticks you make when you want something simple but still crave that classic, comforting texture—perfect alongside pasta, soup, or just dipped in marinara or olive oil. You can keep them classic, brush with garlic oil, or add a cheesy topping for that restaurant-style feel (you know the one).

The *fun trick in making these is to put the dough inside a lightly oiled plastic bag with a corner cut out and just squeeze the dough out to pipe the breadsticks into shape. It makes them nice and smooth! Of course, if you have piping bags at home for icing, just use those. It keeps your hands clean, and the breadsticks pretty!
If you’ve tried making gluten-free bread sticks before and ended up frustrated, give this method a shot. It’s designed to work—and to restore your faith that gluten-free bread can be easy, reliable, and genuinely delicious.

Easy Gluten Free Breadsticks with Mix
Equipment

Ingredients
- 1 package gfJules Gluten Free Focaccia Mix
- 1 egg OR 3 Tbs. aquafaba OR powdered egg sub
- 3 Tbs. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
Instructions
- Bring all ingredients to room temperature. Mix egg, oil, warm water, focaccia mix, and yeast packet (comes with mix) for 2-3 minutes. Dough will be wet and sticky.
- Lightly oil the inside of a quart size or larger freezer bag, if using (not necessary with piping bag) Cut one 3/4" corner out of bag or piping bag. Place dough inside the bag and squeeze to the corner.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment, then pipe out breadsticks to the length you prefer. The dough makes enough for 8 breadsticks at a length of about 6 inches.
- Sprinkle with any toppings, if desired, then cover with another sheet of parchment and set aside to rise for about 30-40 minutes in a warm spot. While rising, preheat your oven to 400℉ (static) or 375℉ (convection).
- Remove top parchment and bake for about 12 minutes. Test with a toothpick inserted into the center to ensure the inside is not doughy before removing to cool. Pressing lightly with a finger, the bread should bounce back and be lightly browned on top. Remove to cool.
