If you’ve followed me for awhile, or even just perused my site and seen all the gluten free pizza recipes I have, you know I love pizza! I’ve got homemade gluten free pizza dough (deep dish or thin crust), gluten free calzones, gluten free pizza rolls, grilled gluten free pizza, gluten free stuffed crust pizza and even an award-winning gluten free pizza crust mix that makes it super easy to have super awesome gluten free pizza anytime!
But adding this gluten free French Bread Pizza recipe means you have yet another, totally different way to get your pizza game on.
It starts with a delicious foundation, of course: gluten free French Bread. Now, if you’ve ever tried any frozen gluten free French Bread, you may think they’re all created equal and none are very good. But think again!
Just like my homemade gluten free pizza dough is TOTALLY different from anything else out there — it tastes like REAL pizza, after all — these homemade gluten free French Bread loaves are a league ahead of any other. This gluten free French Bread is crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside with a gorgeous open crumb and the lovely yeasty smell that authentic baguettes all share.
While it’s even easier to achieve gluten free French Bread nirvana with my gfJules Gluten Free Pizza Crust Mix, you can also make delicious loaves from scratch with my recipe and gfJules Flour. Either one is truly the key to light and airy, REAL bready bread.
And you do want real bready bread, don’t you?
For yet another option, try my gfJules Gluten Free Sandwich Bread Mix to make these gluten free French Bread Pizzas — this mix makes a soft, more whole-grain style loaf which some prefer for their French Bread Pizzas (even though it’s more of an Italian Bread Pizza, but who’s keeping track?).
Whether using one of my mixes or from scratch with my gfJules Flour, you’ll simply follow the directions to make gluten free French Bread (baguettes) and then you’ll transform them magically into pizza using this recipe! It really does seem a bit magical, given how easy it actually is to make great gluten free French Bread Pizzas.
I can’t wait to see your family’s spin on these personal pizzas! Veggie lovers, pepperoni, anchovies, pineapple, or just Margherita style (you’ve got to try my homemade pizza/pasta sauce recipe — so good!) … even vegan cheese is delish on these babies! I’m new to gf baking, and I’m dying for a good dough for cheezy bread. Can I use a pizza dough and then top it with the garlic and mozzarella cheese mix?
Or will the crust be hard and crunchy?
Hi Jo Ann, that sounds divine, actually! The outside crust will be crunchier than the inside, of course, but not so very hard or crusty that it wouldn’t be delicious covered in melted cheese! Happy baking!

I never grew up on French Bread Pizza but a lot of my friends did. My husband and I made our first homemade version a few weeks ago and we’re totally hooked 🙂 I love your gluten free option!
Thanks Jenna! It’s a really quick way to make dinner, that’s for sure!
